Quantification of Uncertainty in Gravity Field Modelling

Due to current developments in the area of increasing the availability of working memory, it has become possible for the first time in recent years to quantify uncertainties in the sense of probabilistic variance propagation in this area of physical geodesy.

One of the major challenges is to define stochastic models of the input variables with no or few metadata. Furthermore, the functional process from input to output variables must be completely mapped in a series of linear matrices for the application of variance propagation.
