GIK on Open Day / Campus Day
With the interactive exhibition “TEAM TULLA: Surveying yesterday, today, tomorrow”, the Geodetic Institute took part in KIT's Open Day on May 17, 2025. Visitors were given an insight into surveying methods and instruments from the founding period of KIT 200 years ago to the present day and were able to take a look at future methods using the example of the RITA marking robot.
The program on offer included lectures on the topic of “Workplace Earth” as well as interactive activities. For example, visitors were able to operate an old calculating machine, indirectly determine a distance by measuring angles and determine a height difference using modern and historical leveling devices.
The Geodesy Student Council was also present on Campus Day with its Study Lounge, providing information about the degree courses at GIK and inviting visitors to enjoy a relaxed exchange with students.
