GeoLaB – Geodetic Monitoring Using Low-Cost Sensor Systems

The GeoLaB research project aims to improve our understanding of geothermal processes in crystalline rock and contribute to the safe and sustainable use of deep geothermal energy.
As part of the project, the use of low-cost sensors for the development of GeoSensorNodes is being investigated. These nodes are intended to form a spatially distributed GeoSensorNetwork for the continuous monitoring in the subsurface.
The research focuses on evaluating sensor performance and reliability, as well as developing suitable methods for data acquisition and analysis. The overall goal is to establish the foundation for reliable, scalable, and cost-effective geodetic monitoring within GeoLaB.
