1979 Doctorate in Engineering (Dr.-Ing.), Fakulty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, University of Karlsruhe (TH)
1984 Postdoctoral lecture qualification and grant for the teaching certificate in the field of Geodesy, University of Karlsruhe (TH)

1980 - Present Member of various special study groups (SSG) including the International Association of Geodesy (IAG), Chairman of the SSG 5.122 (Geodynamical effects of global gravity field variations, 1987-1991) and SSG 4142 (Application of boundary value techniques to space and airborne gravity field observations, 1991 – 1995)

  • Mathematical Geodesy (textbook for land surveying)
  • Physical Geodesy (gravity field determination, geodetic boundary value problem)
  • Satellite Geodesy (positioning with GPS, satellite gradiometry)
  • Approx. 80 scientific publications in journals, series and anthologies, as well as a textbook
  • Approx. 100 scientific presentations for various symposiums and seminars
  • Supervision of 12 doctoral and 2 postdoctoral theses
